Black ASL

ImageI’ve been very excited about this book and now more so with this short video explaining a bit about it (scroll down).  Truly hoping Dr. Joseph Hill and some of the other authors can come to NTID, RIT some day in the near future to share their findings.  It’s VERY important work they have done.

Thank you C. McCaskill, C. Lucas, R. Bayley, and J. Hill and thank you ASLized for getting the video out there.

Link to a summary about the book and links to the table of contents and chapter one of the book.

    Dr. Joseph Hill
It was very interesting to watch your video about Black ASL. I lived and worked as a deaf teacher of deaf in St. Thomas Virgin Islands for six years. No research for Black ASL in USVI.

Lisa – GREAT. I’m glad you will share it. We need to spread the good stuff.

Harold – you might want to leave a comment at the youtube video in the hopes that Dr. Hill will see it there.

Research into sign language on St Thomas Virgin Islands would be great.

thank you both for your comments and for appreciating this research.
